Dr. Serge Martinod

President

Dr Martinod is co-founder and President of Arcanatura LLC USA and brings an incredible wealth of experience, innovation and creativity to the company.
A veterinarian with a PhD in Biological Sciences, Serge worked in clinical practice for several years before moving into animal health research and development, securing a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship at the prestigious Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Serge has held executive positions for 15 years in some of the largest animal pharmaceutical companies, directing the development and launch of many major animal healthcare products into international markets in Europe and Japan as well as in the United States.

Following a personal battle with cancer and the arrival in his life of Abbie (a very special West Highland White Terrier who does not tolerate chemicals and pharmaceuticals very well) Serge decided to explore the use of natural and functional medicine for animals. Partnering with a friend from Veterinary School, Xavier Fargetton, Serge founded Arcanatura, a company developing and commercializing 100% natural and clinically efficacious products for the eco-conscious animal health market.

In addition to contributing to many academic and professional journals Serge Martinod has authored and co-authored a number of chapters in textbooks and made numerous presentations at international scientific and veterinary congresses. As a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association for the past 21 years, Serge continues diverse research interests, which revolve around inflammation, wound healing and the natural control of ectoparasites like fleas and ticks. Serge is particularly interested in finding new natural ways of managing inflammation in animal diseases like skin allergies, otitis or arthritis. Through Arcanatura Serge is committed to helping minimize the impact of toxic pollutants on animal health and helping the environment by reducing the environmental impact of animals.
